Rapper Nelly was arrested on drug charges over the weekend in Tennessee.
According to a statement released to WRCB TV, the “Ride Wit Me” star’s tour bus was pulled over by a state trooper on Saturday (April 11), after the vehicle failed to display two required stickers.

The troopers then decided to search Nelly’s tour bus after smelling marijuana and they later discovered "a plastic bag that contained five rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia".
Nelly - real name Cornell Haynes - was later charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and was taken to Putnam County Jail.
The 40-year old has since been released on bail after posting bond later that day.
His lawyer Scott Rosenblum has since stated that Nelly will be cleared of the charges against him, stating to the singer’s public relations firm ItGirl: “Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee.
“In fact, there had been 15-20 people that had access to the bus prior to the stop. Allegedly, a small quantity of contraband (MDMA aka Molly or Ecstasy) was discovered during the routine search.”
Rosenblum concluded: “We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered."
